Sandberger compost-turner

Tuhala earthworm-farm has got a useful machinery- Sandberger compost-turner.
Earthworms eat composted manure and organic waste- such as leaves, straw, and other crops residues. There are several steps for succeeding a composting process. It is necessary to mix the pile, to get an even consistency, the temperature of the compost pile can not exceed a certain level, the humidity should be controlled. Mixing a compost pile is a very difficult job to do manually or with tractor bucket.  Best results, however, will give a special compost-turner. This kind of machinery is produced by different companies, the one working in Tuhala is produced in Austria by Sandberger. It is driving on rubber tracks, it has got a powerful John Deer engine and the mixing unit can be moved up or down. In addition, this machine has also the irrigation system, which has a separate dosing pump for adding composting enhancing substances.
